Responding to stories shared by local refugees, the Columbus Crossing Borders art exhibit includes the works of 34 artists, depicting small windows into their personal struggles. As the exhibit moves from left to right, each painting contains an element that reaches into the painting beside it. In other words, each artist is being asked to allow their work to ‘cross the border’ and enter into the painting of their neighboring artist. Consequently, all these artists must co-operate in order to resolve any challenges that arise as they cross over into their neighbor’s painting.
Join us to view this wonderful art exhibit, a partnership between the Grange Insurance Audubon Center and Columbus City Schools. It features the artwork of over 60 middle school students from Columbus Gifted Academy.
Join us again this year for our ever popular fundraiser, as we focus on the theme of conservation and care for creation with several special guests from the Columbus Zoo!
After enjoying fair trade tea, chocolate, and other sweets, the Zoo will feature several animals, along with information about their habitat, status in the wild, and conservation issues. We’ll also learn more about local Dominican Sisters of Peace ecology programs from Shepherd’s Corner Farm and Ecology Center. Attendees can also view our latest art exhibit “Conservation in the Classroom” – a partnership between Grange Insurance Audubon Center and Columbus City Schools.
As a special feature this year, come dressed to impressed with your favorite hat! Prizes will be given for hats based on the theme. And of course, don’t forget about our great raffle prizes!
